Fluor invests in preparing students for success.

Fluor believes science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education is a foundation for student success. We invest in programs that inspire and prepare students to excel in STEM and are committed to developing the next generation workforce.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math

Fluor invests in higher education and university programs, as well as those benefiting primary and secondary schools. In 2018, Fluor and its employees provided more than 255,000 students with over 2.2 million hours of STEM training and enrichment by investing in school-based curricular enhancements, outreach and high quality out-of-school time activities. Examples include Fluor's Craft Education Initiative, Engineers Week activities and Science Buddies.

Each year Fluor and its employees pay tribute to the world of engineering by participating in a variety of programs during Engineers Week, including the Fluor Friendly Competition, in which employees challenge each other in a global, company-wide engineering competition. As a part of Engineers Week celebrations, Fluor partners with Science Buddies for the Fluor Engineering Challenge. With the help of an expert team of scientists and educators, employee-developed Friendly Competition challenges have been adapted to become a truly hands-on and engaging experience designed specifically for students.

Global University Sponsorship Program

Through the Global University Sponsorship Program, Fluor sponsors annual grants and scholarships at selected universities with a focus on engineering, construction and business programs. Through these partnerships, Fluor executive teams work with the universities to prepare students for tomorrow's global and technical workforce.

Craft Education Initiative

Fluor is committed to increasing awareness, participation and achievement in craft disciplines, thereby shaping the future of the construction workforce. Through the Craft Education Initiative, Fluor is investing its resources in targeted schools, colleges and initiatives that increase student awareness, pursuit and completion of high-value construction industry certifications. Since the program's inception in 2013, Fluor's financial and in-kind contributions have totaled more than $490,000. The program demonstrates Fluor's position as a leader in workforce development through the leveraging of philanthropic investments. To date, more than 4,900 students have enrolled in Fluor-supported training and courses.
